Collapsed ceiling after water damage

A thunderstorm damaged the roof at an apartment complex in Huntsville and caused water damage to four apartments.  The weight of the water caused the ceiling in this apartment to collapse.  The property manager called SERVPRO to help them with the cleanup.

Our crews cleaned up all of the fallen insulation and removed the damaged drywall in the ceiling.  We also put up containment plastic across the ceiling.  The decision was made to also remove the damaged carpet and pad.  See this before/after post to see the mess this water damage caused on the floor.     

The apartments are now ready for reconstruction services to replace the insulation, drywall and flooring.
